Love is the Bridge to Infinity

Many of us are familiar with the word “namaste”—the divine in me sees and respects the divine in you.

May I ask, as you hear these words, how does this feel to you? We can conceptualize and analyze, but for the next few moments, may we bring namaste to our heart space and feel its essence within?

While I understood the concept of namaste, it took me years to embody the essence of the word. I could see and respect the divine in you. I could reflect it to you, even if you couldn’t see it, and invite you to celebrate it.

However, I couldn’t see it in me. I didn’t feel divine.

(May we take one moment please and reflect upon: what does divine feel like? I would love to know what it feels like for you! For me, divine is buoyancy and spaciousness and solid trust with fluid creative expression. It is ethereal and connects me to the stars, rooted and connects me to earth and everything in between).

I didn’t feel divine because my external circumstances from birth through much of adulthood screamed “not enough”. My mind said divine is complete and abundant, so how could I live in a state of not enough, yet be divine?

When I learned the practice of internal energy movement, I learned to connect to source. When I cultivated awareness and full presence in this moment, the moment was overflowing with abundance, and “not enough” dissolved. I could look in the mirror, into my own eyes and say a genuine “I love your essence, thank you for being you”.

It wasn’t an appreciation and love of an egoic self, but a genuine appreciation and love of the gift of life, the air and nourishment and warmth available to me; not because I had earned it, but because I had chosen to open to receive it, and share it—regardless of external circumstances. My heart felt this truth completely which allowed my mind to consider the reality of infinite possibility. For surely, if I am able to experience peace in this moment as it is–despite my conditioning—anything truly is possible.

I reflect this to you: “love is the bridge to infinite possibility” because it is the truth that I live; a practice of learning that expands my world by naturally releasing inner barriers around my heart as I embrace the gift of the moment.

It is essential to remember that this is a practice. One moment I might be fully present and aware, the next I might be distracted. When I choose to celebrate the wonderful feeling of flow, that gratitude overshadows any doubt/ fear and invites more opportunities to experience flow/divine connection.

One simple practice that I use to honor namaste is something that I call “a living namaste”. As I move through my day, I offer a silent namaste to everything. Yes, this means that during this practice I might move slower than others, I might prefer solitude to external connection; yet, when I am centered in this practice, I move at my regular pace, relating with all whom wish to and creating my heart whispers.

Offering a silent namaste means that when I wake, I offer namaste to my self, to my bedding, to my room, to my shower, to my breakfast choices, and so on throughout the day. I find that when I respect all in my sight, I am prompted to allow all in my sight to be enriching and enlivening, orderly and clean, simple and delightful. When we are surrounded by enriching and enlivening, the energy we receive in turn is: enriching and enlivening. From such a space, anything truly is possible, and we know this to be so, because we are living it.

My lovely friends, how wonderful is that?

By the way, at the beginning of this reflection, I shared with you a transformative phrase “I love your essence, thank you for being you.” When you apply this to any connec tion or creation, you will see how love and gratitude together can build, strengthen, grow, heal everything.

(I used “divine” as a descriptive word for Source. Our religious beliefs and spiritual practices might differ; to honor individual expression I chose a word that was broad enough to encompass our differences and allow us to connect through them).

Thank you for these moments of connection; I very much appreciate your presence!

I would love to hear your thoughts and reflections, for when you share I learn. May you describe what does divine feel like to you? And, what rose as you read this reflection?

Much peace,
